One that is getting a lot of people interested is DaVinci Resolve, from Blackmagic Design. It is free, but very powerful and not particularly easy to learn. The free GoPro Studio from the GoPro site is also good and free. Then there are the ones you have to buy like Adobe Premier and Final Cut Pro from Apple (if you have an Apple flavoured system).

I use Filmora. It is free to try out and about $50 to buy. It is easy to learn, there are a lot of filters, transitions, editing tools, etc in the software.
