Not with the stock operating system.
I have a friend rooting one for me, to see if it will run the DJiGo App from the Android store. If so, my P3S will have it's own dedicated 7" display.

I'm sure for $49, this is not going to work for the GO app. The app takes a lot of processing power.
About the least expensive device I know of is the NVIDIA Shield K that will work.

Actually, it works like a charm. Keep in mind, the tablet price is subsidized by advertising, and Amazon is planning to make money off your purchases using the hardware, so they aren't trying to make any money on the hardware, much like video game console manufacturers.

It has a quad core processor at 1.3GHZ, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal memory, expandable using up to a 64GB Micro-SD card.
One nice benefit is that you can pop the  micro-SD card from the P3S right into the tablet when done flying to quickly view the videos and stills.

I have the fire phone, unrooted, factory OS...DJI-GO works very well. So I can only presume since the Kindle Fire runs the same OS, that it too would work well. I wish I had known BEFORE I bought my $150 Acer Iconia Tab 10, but it is a badass tablet so not too upset.
Just get the app from the Amazon app store...It's free. Now if only Litchi would be Fire friendly...

I bought Amazon's"buy 5, get 1 free promotion last Fall. Each kid got one, my mother got one, I sold one to a friend, I have one loaded with all my Kindle books for my own use. I had one left over that basically cost me nothing. The only downside is that it has no onboard GPS, so you can't use the "Follow Me" feature, or update to a new home point. (which I haven't had occasion to do anyway)
In the event that I need to do those, I will just use my iPhone 6 plus for that flight. I'll have one of my kids take some video of the screen while I fly next time.

You have to root the tablet and load the Google Play Store on it. Amazon doesn't have the DJi app in their App Store.

Yeah, minus doing what exactly? Rooting the device? Which most people won't do.  And losing your w ...

Correct, the device has been rooted, as I posted above. I wasn't able to do it myself, but I have a friend who is into Android devices. He has a Linux machine setup for rooting.
I'm not really worried about warranty on a $49 device, and it's nice to have a dedicated FPV device, without having to use my iPhone or iPad.

It works fine... There is no need to Root the Kindle

Go to settings on Kindle... Enable Apps from Unknown Sources
Then go to DJI site/Support.. Phantom 3 Pro.... Downloads... Click on link to get it from Google Play Store

The ONLY issue I have found ( I have done 4 Kindles already)  is that you need to unplug and plug in USB cord a few times to sync it to the remote.
ZERO issues on any of them... works great

I was using my iPhone 6 Plus with the P3S. One day my wife kept calling me while I was flying at ~400 feet. I wasn't sure what would happen if I took the call, so I had to land ASAP and call her back. With the dedicated device, I can still use my phone...as a phone.

I managed to get it working on my kindle fire 5th gen. Took a lot of work but I got to go. Now I need a bigger holder as the standard clip is too small!

Get the Inspire clamp, part 38. There are also holders that do not require you to drill. Look around. Use Google.
