Phantom3 battery buttons disabled

I bought this new spare battery for my Phantom3 advanced about 12 days ago from Amazon(sold by DJI). I hadn't opened it till today. And when I did, I just realized it's not working. I am not able to press the power button on the battery. Feels like it's disabled. No lights and no click sound. When I connect the charger I don't see anything happening.
Can someone tell me what could be the problem?

Since there was no mention that the box the battery came in was damaged, am I to assume the DJI sent out a faulty battery? Are the batteries not tested before they are sent out to the customers? Doesn't DJI have a quality control (QC) department at their facility? Shouldn't DJI compensate their customers for inconveniences they impose!?
