Hi John
You're near me, near Chelmsford.
I have the Standard which I got 3 months ago. I shot that castle video in 1080. I also have decided to shoot in NTSC at 30 frames per sec, rather than PAL, which is only 25 fps, as PAL sometimes gives you a little more movie-style judder on play back with teh sweeping moving shots. Personal choice; High Def TVs can handle either format. Experiment and decide what looks best to you.
I found 1080 worked fine on my laptop but 2.7k did not; I got choppy play back as the laptop didn't have a decent graphics card. I've since gone out and bought a new gaming laptop which plays 2.7k fine, so I'm more out of pocket but having more fun and now shoot in 2.7K all the time.
I've also downloaded PowerDirector 14 Ultra ; it's £48 and has a very intiuitive and easy to use interface; easier and more powerful than WMM in my opinion. with a lot more feaetures if you want to use them.
GoPro Studio restricts much of their features if the file is not a GoPro file so I found that too frustrating.
DaVinci Resolve is excellent but is like full-scale Photoshop; pretty steep learning. It also doesn't allow importing of MP3s in the Windows version, so you can't easily add music unless you convert that first; another step I could do without.
Hit Film Express 3 is also free and a very powerful fully featured movie editing program.
After trying all of them, I opted for PowerDirector 14 as said.
I also use Plex on my TV which is great for watching the finished films on TV. You need a smart TV or an Amazon Fire Stick / Google Chrome Stick if you have a non-smart TV.
All of these are easily searchable on google if you want more info.
And watch the 'top 10 pilot errors' video on here; it's really useful stuff.
Happy flying fella
Ian
