Anyone have any experience using the Shield K1 tablet with the DJI Go app on the Phantom 4? I'm seriously looking at it as a contender for the iPad Mini 2/4. I hear that people keep saying that the app is a little more optimized for iOS and the Apple hardware... The Shield K1 is a pretty beefy peice of hardware, much cheaper, has GPS/GLONAS support without requiring a Cellular-capable model.

When I was messing around with the old DJI app with a Phantom 2 Vision+, my Nexus 5 phone ran it perfectly fine.

Just looking for anyone with previous experience using a Shield with the Phantom 4 to chime in and leave some feedback on how it performed.

Hey, I ordered an Nvidia Shield K1 and should get it by friday. I have no idea about whether it will work but all of my research suggests that it should. If you get yours before that and find out, please post your experience. Otherwise, I will let you know on friday! :-)

I ordered a Nivida Shield from Amazon and  I like it a lot. I have an Android phone and my phone wouldn't work.

My shield K1 is doing a great job on my phantom 3 advanced.

My Nexus 5 works fine. Just wondering about the Shield for the bigger screen size.

I have a Shield K and honestly I like my iPad Air and Mini3 on both the P3 and P4.
I do like the screen recording of the Shield though.

     So the nVidia Shield is one of the few Androids working with DJI Go 2.7.0?  The Shield uses Android 6.  My Android tablet just qualifies for DJI Go (4.2.2), but has hit the wall with DJI Go 2.7.0.  I have to see if I can update the Android OS.

My Shield is on 5.1.1 and it works just fine with the P4.

The only problem I have is the screen is not very bright on the nvidia but then again no tablet works good in the sunlight.

     Mahalo for the input.  We have to make a shade for the Shield because the DJI one is 3/4 of an inch too small.  Getting a no-glare screen-cover is possible but makes the touch screen less responsive.

is your USB cable setup set to only usb cable .. ?? For image on DJI go app. or can have one of the other two options to work

As far as I know the Shield worked great. There even was a post that a person used the HDMI out to his FPV goggles and it worked perfectly with no lag as all.
I do not have the Shield K anymore so I cannot verify.
What do you mean unusable video, what exactly is happening and can you screen record a quick clip and post it.

Here is my screen capture on wetransfer. Download and watch please. Doesn't metter if I'm at home or flying outdoor, same issue. On iPad is ok.
It seems a problem is on Shield K1 side. Tried Go App from 2.8.2 until latest, same grayed video.

I have the K1, with P3P and it works perfectly, until Remote 1.8. So downgrade 1.6 RC and all is perfect. And I use 2.9.0 Go version the 3.01 is crap.
The K1 is on latest 6.01 and ist very good, with Litchi 3.8 it works very good, I saw the the Litchi is not on latest SDK due to code issues so they are one version behind so here could be the issue in DJI Go.
But the K1 is in the Android world a good choice in my humble view.

I did a few hours ago, everything working perfectly!

Also, my Shield K1 works better with android 6 than 5, before updating it I was getting some live video corruption in the Go App, no issues since the update.

Best thing about the Shield K1 - it plays the 4K videos through HDMI perfectly smoothly, can't do that on my computer.

i have rc firm 1.6.0 on flash drive may try 1.8.0 next week thanks!

I hope DJI R&D team will investigate that issue and will repair it soon, otherwise we have to stay with 1.6 fw.

My K1 has been working great for a couple of months with the P4 now. The quality of the USB cable is important. Since I swapped the longer "stock" one that came with the P4 for a shorter Anker one all is perfect.

The above user has no issues with his Shield K as he's using a short USB cable.
If you try that it may work.

It "feels" better with a different cable. But this is all confirmation bias probably - like audiophools.

As you know, DJI usb cables shipped with Inspire, I use with K1, are shorter twice then one shipped with P4.As I said before, downgrading RC firmware helped, so my cable is ok, your firmware is buggy.

You shouldn't have to, but the K1 is not one of the DJI recommended devices.
The other person posted their K1 has been working great, I do not have one so I cannot test.
