A question for the Final Cut X users out there.
When importing your footage into FCPX, how are you rendering it? Is it overkill to render in Proress 422? Some of my videos may be used on TV so I want to keep the quality at it's highest possible but if the encoding of the Phantom 3 Pro videos is not of a similar quality as Prores, then I'm basically making a much bigger file with no extra improvement in quality.

Hope this makes sense. I'm fairly new to editing video so I may not have used all the correct terminology.

Yes encode to Proress if you want the best quality and ease of render etc from FCP (FCP calls this optimised media) - incidentally if the footage wouldn't bennefit from the encode the option would be greyed out and FCP wouldn't do it.  You can also create proxy files to speed up working and then switch to the optimised media for final render and sharing (output).
