I live in S.Korea, and decided to buy a phantom 4 for a youtube channel that i will be making documentaries about the modern view of Korean landmarks and culture exchange.

I have always fancied all the functions provided with the phantom series,

but seeing so many cases of sudden drop of the machine, i have to say im a bit concerend about the possibilty of me crashing the machine and drop right into the ocean below.

my question is : how likely is it for someone to drop the phantom 4 into the ground wether it's by simple miscontrolling or caused by software error?

Not very likely.

It's not about the P4 but it addresses the common beginner's fear createded by reading forum posts about problems.

How likely are you to read and understand the manual? Watch the tutorials? read and watch all that you can about why people crash the craft? If you do these things, the likelihood of your P4 to end up as a statistic is very low.

     It is extremely unlikely for the P4 to fall out of the sky, it is the safest drone on the market.

There is ALWAYS a reason for a crash. Most often,  it is a pilot who is not familiar with the aircraft.  Hardware failures are rare,  but they do happen.  Software failures can be avoided by being informed.  One way to do that is to read this forum.  Issues that happen will be discussed, along with conditions present when failure occured.  Stay informed and enjoy your Phantom.

50-50 chance? No seriously it's like anything else you buy, there's always a small percentage of people having issues but you only hear about the bad. I've been flying 4 different DJI quads for two years and never had any major issues.
