I have received the error message gimbal disconnected.

Does this mean the product I paid $1400 for is defective?

What is the remedy to this problem?

I had that message after one flight. I think I flew too high into some low cloud so it got damp, then afterwards I had several error messages which didn't go away until 12 hours of drying out indoors.

DJI Support is awful. I filed a complaint and have received no feedback.

What else can be done to fix this problem? Do I need to talk to legal?

Yes I admit their support leaves a lot to be desired. If the fault is not due to user error, you should be able to get it repaired for free. I know it's terribly inconvenient, but it's better than paying for a new one. Just get the repair process started via their repair page.

They asked me for a screenshot of the error message which I sent today. I will keep you all posted as to how this goes.

Get ready for the runaround...let's see, the usual "suggestions" are: try a different USB/iPhone cable, check the ribbon cables, calibrate the IMU, relink the RC, blah blah blah.

After the *third* camera/gimbal, mine seems to be working *so far*, but it took two trips to the repair facility.  We'll see if this lasts.

Shoddy quality control...get used to it!

I have the same issue, flew for 10 minutes then landed. Next flight it's said not connected, and gimbal disconected. Help!
