v1.8.80 on my plane updated fine but with my RC 5 mins go by and nothing happens and then I get 1 peep for 5 mins then all the lights on the remote go out. Any ideas?

try turning on rc then ac  then open GO app....update FW from there.

Thank you for the reply but I am not sure what you mean. Turn on the RC with my sd card plugged into the RC and then turn on my Ipad mini and turn on the GO app?

The RC gets updated via the GO app.

Delete the GO app, reinstall it and see it it prompts you to update it.

Keep the Phantom off during this.

yes. I figured it out. It's strange. The GO app prompted me to update but then only updated the RC to 1.6 even though the notes for 1.8 says 1.8 is required for plane and RC. I was able to fly with the plane (1.8) and RC (1.6) with no issues.

The AC can update via GO app, SD card or USB.  I tried SD and USB no luck I was able to do so via GO app

P3A or P3P only....P3S is go app only

Hello Raptor911, the latest firmware version of phantom 3 pro/adv is 1.6.0 which should be upgraded via DJI Go app.

Hi Paladin, just checking, are you correct in saying the FW = 1.6.0?
I have just updated and noted whilst downloading feedback was 1.8.80 but when complete indicated upload to 1.6.0.
