Hi every body,

While i have no more gimbal, i continue to practice with my phantom.

First i ve tryied to use it on alt mode, but today, a little bit to much windy to control it well, i ve seen you still can use the GPS Mode.

But, i was wondering about RTH without gimball.

Is there a way to set it ?

In fact i'm affraid, because last time, he made a non wanted RTH, so, i m affraid he ll try to rth to the last place i ve set .

If you had a crash that was hard enough to snap the gamble and cause internal damage, I would send the whole unit in for repairs.

With that much damage it will be taking a huge chance trying to fly the Phantom under any circumstances.

Hello Dragon CAD, theoretically the gimbal doesn't have an effect on RTH but flying without a camera may be not a good choice. I'd suggest you to get in touch with our Europe center and send the drone back for repairing.Here is the contacting information:

Of course you can set rth height without gimbal, gimbal does not have any part in you going in the DJI go app and setting RTH height. Gimbal/camera is purely to take pictures and fly fpv!!

Personnaly, if i link my phone to my phantom, on my app,  rth hight is on 0 and red, impossible to change it.

I m sure of 1 thing, when i engage my propellers, a new RTH location is set, my maximum range is 500 m,
and when i ve no battey left, my phantom start a RTH.


So i have to do a reset by setting attitude mode. But i don t know the hight of my rth, i don t know how to set it.

I just disconnected a camera and powered up, I had to adjust the max flight altitude and they the RTH can be set higher (but not more than the max alt setting). Have you tried increasing that?
And, since you had a good enough crash to break the camera off, there very well could be internal damage and you really should not be flying with until it is checked out. Especially if you are flying over people.

Witch phantom 3 do you have ? the one i speak about is a standard.

When you have no gimball, you cannot set anything.

The last time I purposely took my gimbal off, all the settings functions were fine.

I have the P3P.

I have a Standard and an Advanced.  I have flown both with no gimbal.  Everything worked fine except no camera view.  Probably,  you have other damage to your P3.

Yep, when my gimbal snapped out I could still set RTH (P3S)

How do you remove the gimbal? Is it a cable or the whole assembly?
