It does seem very logical and, after all, it's the way we connect our Phantom 3 Pro to our phone.  Connecting this way would probably eliminate lag and avoid those pesky disconnects.

I've gotten the request a few times from different producers to use my pano in RF and wifi free zones and hardline video and control would be really important. Also extensions so you could mount the camera in awkward locations but still have full control.
