Hi guys,

My drone crashed, I don't know why... But the major problem is...
The gimble is broken, and DJI and I have 7 days to decide if I will pay or not...
Do you think I should pay or buy another one? It's a Phantom 3 Standard...

Hmmm .. brand new (in US) P3S is $499 .. fixed and no warranty for $422 vs brand new with some warranty for $499. I'd spend the extra 70. But, If it was an advanced or Pro, i'd get it fixed.

I'm sorry for your crash, that is 100% up to you, me personally I would try and save money and purchase the Advanced. But if you are on a tight budget then pay for the repair.

Personally, I'd walk away...at a fast pace....and not look back.  Too close to full price of new unit as digdat poined out.  Chalk it up to learning experience.

Save that money add a bit to it and get an advanced....even if you have to be without for a few mionths.   Worth it.

Yeah, I'm sure that the repaired unit would be as good as new (I know because I've had two repaired by DJI), so you could save some money. But for $70, I personally would get the new unit. For one thing, you would have spare parts (motors, etc.) from the old unit.

But another bonus is that if the old battery is okay, then you would be +1 on batteries (a $115-$150 value) since you get a battery with the new bird.

You would also have two quick chargers so that you could charge two batteries at a time, or one battery + the remote. I have a second charger myself and use 2 at a time often.

Yeah, I allready had this is my head...
If the second bird need some parts, I have a battery, controller, props, chargers, motors, well, I have two birds, just one can't fly or without the camera...

I think I will buy a second one, and maybe who knows, make some experiences with the first

Do whatever you can to get up to the Advanced or Pro. Lightbridge is sooooo much better than wifi.

Could you please tell me the diference between the 3 phantoms models please?

The main differences:
Standard - Uses Wifi for video stream - HD Camera (1080P)
Advanced - Uses Lightbridge for video stream - HD Camera (1080P)
Pro - Uses Lightbridge for video stream - UHD camera (4K)
P3 4K - Uses Wifi for video stream - UHD camera (4K)

Lightbridge is integrated into the remote and the bird, so you don't have to 'join a network'. It carries a 720P HD picture to your device, and will stay connected at much longer distances IMHO. I had a lot of trouble with Wifi on the P2V+ so will not go back to it.  Hope that helps!

You are comparing USD and EUR.  His 422 euro is about $470USD.

If you not gonna get the repair free, I'd say buy new, or even spring up and buy advanced... Now, did you guys ever figure what the cause was? No chance to get a free repair? If there' s no way you can prove it was not your fault, just buy new. keep this for parts, or sell for parts. If there's a way you can show them it was not your fault, fight for it...

It can only compare 3 products.  Click on the X next to the P4 to turn it off, then click on the + next to the standard.  You will get the 3 models compared side by side.

Espero que este link te ajude. As diferenças são ao nivel dos carregadores das baterias, da capacidade das cameras e do Lightbrige. Aconselho-te com Lightebrige porque aumenta a distancia de vôo para os 2 Km.

They said is a pilot error and there is nothing strange on the LOG files...
I give up... More than 2 weeks fighting against DJI....

Obrigado pela a ajuda! Vou optar pelo Advanced, porque acho que o Pro é desnecessário para mim...
Não irei utilizar o 4k e por mais é apenas para uso pessoal e gravar alguns vídeos aéreos em eventos para família, por isso acho que o Advanced com um raio que chega até aos 5KM, coisa que nunca irei testar, se chegar até 1/2km já é muito bom
Filmar em 2.7K acho que já é o suficiente, por mais hoje em dia ainda é raro as pessoas que têm equipamento para visualizar vídeos em 4K por isso de momento acho que posso passar à frete... E quem sabe mais tarde, ainda venho a adquirir o P5 ou mesmo o Inspire 2 quando sair

Like I was saying to my portuguese friend, I will chose the Advanced... I will not use the 4K, I have the machine to edit 4K and all that sutff, but I think is no necessary.... It's more for fun, for family  trips, aerial photos and family videos on good ocasions...
I think that a camera with 2.7K is enought, by the way, a lot of people don't have equipement to watch 4K videos so...
And who know, maybe later I will buy a P5 ou maybe even a Inspire 2, who know

Now we know why DJI sell refurbished Phantoms, the repair price is to high to original customers. They must have loads sitting in their workshops. The repair costs should be a fraction of the new price. Looks to me like they don't really want to offer a reasonable repair service. When you making hundreds/thousands a day the repair costs must be minimal in component costs. My background is in electronic components.  Must be marketing strategy.

I just don't know why they are being like that... They are lossing costumers... But is like that... Os they way to work... I was thinking to buy a new one, the advanced this time but the way they react and all that stuff, i really don't know if I will keeping to be a Dji costumer... The only thing that I know is I will get my drone back! I DONT CARE!

Dont waste your money on another standard, go for the Advanced and sell anything from the standard

I would go new, you could easily sell your old drone on eBay, I would think it would sell at a good price

If you decide to get another one or repair this one, here is something you really need to do when you get a bird.  Get a gimbal protector!  That was the first thing I did.  Only flipped once trying Litchi for the first time (my mistake), but even after the flip crash, everything was still perfect.
These birds have very weak stock parts holding the gimbal and camera.

Das ist alles schön und gut, aber wenn wir alle eine differnt Sprache auf diesen Foren zu verwenden entscheiden , es wird die Teilnahme von allen sehr schwierig machen .
