So I have a question about the return to home and land feature.  My Phantom 3 Standard does a good job of reutnring to home but on the landing part it usally lands a decent 10-20 feet from the take off point. Is that normal?

Yes it is, consumer GPS is within about 30 feet

10-20 feet is possible but if you try a few more times you'd probably find it is more often quite a bit  closer than that.
But when you use RTH, there is no need to let it do all the flying and landing.
You can cancel RTH at any time and choose your own landing place much better than a blind machine.

Good pilots land their aricraft manually, and put them down exactly where they want them to be. Don't be tempted to use RTH to bring your aircraft home or there will be a serious crash in your future.
