Yellow flashing. Aircraft not connected?

Hello,

I just purchased the aircraft from a friend.  He bought it in December 2015, flew it once, but the project he bought it for never materialized, so the Phantom 3 Advanced remained in the box for 5 months.

Today I tried to use it.  The first thing the DJI GO app told me was to upgrade the firmware, which I did.  Then the RC it would not communicate with the aircraft.  After some playing around, I figured it needed to be paired with the aircraft again, which I did.

Then, on the RC it says "No signal", and the aircraft flashes yellow rapidly.  But when I turn off the aircraft, it says disconnected instead of no signal, so I know it's paired correctly.

I figured it might have do with a firmware upgrade required also on the aircraft, so I did it, or tried to.  Saved the bin file on the SD file (version 1.8 dated April), powered on the aircraft.  It started its firmware upgrade as I could see the camera little led alternating green and red as stated in the instruction.  But after more than an hour I gave up...

End result: same as before.  No signal.

What can I do to fix it?

Thanks!

What versions are you on:
App?
RC (Remote Control)?
Aircraft? (there is no version 1.8, do you mean 1.8.80 ?)

Thanks for the quick reply!

The Aircraft firmware version I was talking about was indeed 1.8.80.
The Remote version is 1.6.0
The DJI GO version is 2.8.2

More Info...

I checked the content of the SD card.  In the directory MISC\LOG, there is a file named P3S_FW_LOG_AB.txt whose content is the following:

[00000829][01 00] Firmware upgrade finished failed (step = 3, err = 0xffffffff).
[00001088][01 00] Firmware upgrade finished failed (step = 3, err = 0xffffffff).

The file is dated 2097-12-31 23:00, so I don't know if it was there prior to the firmware upgrade I tried or not.

The file I put on the SD card to perform the software upgrade is named "P3X_FW_V01.08.0080.bin, and is dated 2016-04-05 12:04, with an exact size of 66,092,250 bytes.

I hope this can help someone to help me!

I am having the same exact issue.  RC shows paired with the unit but the unit flashes constant yellow after firmware update. I tried to upgrade the RC thinking it might solve the issue but could not upgrade using flash drive or wire connecting RC to unit. Nothing happens. Also my DJI GO app does not recognize the RC when plugged in. I've had no problems before today.

OK.  Sorry for you jusplanome.

As far as I'm concerned, the problem was that I used the wrong firmware package.  I had made a search on Google to find it, and it got me to the PROFESSIONAL firmware upgrade page, where my drone is the advanced version.  MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT ONE!

I reviewed the instructions here:  , downloaded the right BIN file, went through the process again.

Now it all works!

@pbilodeau - Thanks for posting the outcome. Many people post problems on here but never tell us what the outcome was.
If you are using DJI GO version 2.8.2 you might want to read this long thread: http://forum.dji.com/forum.php?m ... D368%26typeid%3D368

Thanks for posting, Make sure to always check that you are on the correct DJI webpage for your aircraft before downloading the firmware.
