The question is :

Is anyone use the 1.6.80 on his P3S and manage to flight without problems ?



PS : I manage to downgrade my P3S in 1.5.70 FW, and now it works ..

after you downgrade to 1.5.7 it shows as 1.5.7+  right bro???

1.6.8 actually fixed my signal lost issue. It works fine.

My p3s lost rc signal at 50 meters with firmware 1.6.8.
I downgraded to 1.5.7+ and still have same issue.
I sent my p3s to dji repair service, i hope they wil fix it.

I have the same error with my copter. I must also send my copter to the DJI repair Service.

I have had rc signal problems for a couple of weeks now... I upgraded to the latest firmware this weekend but it didn't help... Sometimes it loses signal at 20 meters, sometimes at 180 meters... "RC Signal Lost"...then going home. Video feed seems to be ok all the time. Should I wait for a new firmware or should I try downgrade? And help or suggestions is appreciated

I'm currently on 1.6.8, it hasn't helped my signal loss issues, but it hasn't hurt it either. Otherwise no issues

1.6.80 messed up my phantom. Is being send in for RMA this week. Hope im getting it back soon
firmware probably messed up the compass, wich then messed up the firmware. Great.

Yes, I was happy about that.  But i have talked to someone who send it there friday and it still wasnt seen. They said to him it could take up to 3 weeks. Still not so much time tho.

well i send it back on 02/06/2016 and today they have send back to me from Netherlands If they have fixed it, 12 days are not so many

Did they ask you where to send it back to? I assume they used the location where it was send from, But the proof of buy adress is from family, who bought it as a present. I dont want them to sending it to them, haha (and does this matter? My uncles name is on the proof of purchase, but i have been informed it wouldnt matter. Right?)

I had the signal lost problem too, so I sent it in for repair and two weeks later they sent me a new one. It has the latest firmware and works fine.

No problems here. The install itself went 100%, no isssues at all. As for the flight test, that went well also. As I'm new at flying drones I still have been using the limiter, and currently have it set to the max, 500m. In the past I've had issues with range as low as 300m in, so got me one of those Windsurfer mod add-ons. With the mod and the new firmware 1.6.80 I can go out to 500m all day. I'm thinking to turn off the limiter the next time I'm out and push it to 1000m. I live in Lancaster,Pa and can find farmers fields that go on forever, no trees, no wifi, good testing ground.

Not sure way some are having issues. You know it's a real issue, because of all the threads about having range issues after the update. So in my mind there can be two issues at foot here. Do all the P3S have the exact same hardware? Might there be different chip sets on the board. Next just a corrupt install of the update itself. Since these P3S normally use wifi to install the firmware (which is a no no) with any other device, like a router or modem for example. I for one put all three (RC, drone, phone) within one foot of each other durning the install, and do it in a room as far away as can be from my home wifi router. The update really should be by hard wire only in my view.

You have to fill an rma doc that they send to you. I think that you can write there the correct address

I agree.
I think that firmware itself is not the probelm. Maybe p3s have different hardware or maybe it's just a corrupt install.
One thing is quite clear ,tomorrow i will receive my new p3s and if it works i WILL NOT upgrade it ever

Hi all,
i have received my p3s back and this afternoon i have tested it.
I was in a park with a lot of peple so i didn't push my drone to the limit.
I was in the same place where i have lost rc signal after 40-50 meters.
Well today a reched 100 meters of distance and 79.5 of altitude and My rc signal was full, all the time.
I know it's not a full test but it's a good signal for me.
This week end i will full test my p3s  

P.S. dj go ask me to register my p3s so it's a new one

P.P.S. p3s firmware version is 1.6.8

Now as I'm looking at these threads about the newest firmware I'm seeing a pattern I think. People in the US with FCC mode are not complaining as much as those using CE mode?? Look for yourself.

I havent gotten any problems with the update 1.6.8      no range signal loss... only thing is the weak rc signal message that sometimes pops out and goes away quickly... which i have seen on other peoples video apparently it doesnt affect anthing.. but i wish to know what is causing that.//

That's true, you discovered the pattern.  The range issue is partly because of the CE mode, which is all right for Lightbridge, but has a huge effect on Wifi.

Did you manually downgrade method? Can you elaborate in detail how much different after downgrade to 1.5.70?
