Hi guys,
I just had my drone stolen in Miami. It's a Phantom 3 Professional. Is there any way I can trace it through the GPS? Can the drone be traced as soon as somebody connects it to a computer, based on the serials numbers I can provide?
Thank you !
R
It can only be traced if they go through the laborious process of pairing it with another RC unit and then only if they sync the flight logs. Even so, DJI do not appear to respond to the idea of giving out information like that. It has been asked in the past to no avail.
Just like a stolen iPhone, it's possible, but highly unlikely to be traced and recovered. It just costs too much resources so the police won't do it for you.
Sorry about this
There is another topic about the same situation and asking if by the Drone GPS is possible to know the location and someone from the DJI (I don´t remember who) replies that unfortunately it isn´t possible
Can you tell us how happened the robbery?
Those are worthless. It is a community based "idea", If a large number of people in your area dont have the tile and are running the app, it does not work. Save your money. You would be better off just walking down the street and calling for the Phantom.
Sorry to hear about the loss of your drone...maybe in the future DJI will implement a "lost mode" feature on the phantom, similar to that of an iPhone or something. Good luck
