Hi everyone , just picked up my P4 this morning i got the batteries and remote charging.  I have the dji Go app on the phone. (Note 3). Getting a tablet soon. Now i am sure this unit will need updating? So i ask you link to which software i need and this is done through DJI assistant 2? I can't seem to find the desktop pc version to download this. Also is there anything else I will need to get going? I have about 20 min left  until charge time is complete.

Best advice read the manual, and read it again, you can download all firmwear through dji go app , or assistant, do all the calibrations IMU GIMBLE AND COMPASS, all this takes awhile but it's worth taking your time to get it all nailed down and correct, remember all the safety checks, good luck with the flying, it will be a real buzz for you.

Thanks Ken , I have the dji go app . Is it safe to do my firmware updates and whatever else needs updating through the app?  I will also download the Assistant Software on to my laptop as well but essentially they both can do the same thing correct?

Only one more recomendation: there are many videos on Youtube with tips, tricks and training, watch them
And even videos of accidents to learn what not to do

Yes it is totally fine to update through the app or the computer, which ever you prefer. But the computer only updates the aircraft and if the remote control needs updating that is done through the air and it will notify you. Just follow the on-screen instructions and you will have no  problem at all.

Also quick question how do i squivel the clamp for my phone i have a note 3 and want to view horizontal not vertical the clamp for it is too short to view or place sideways?

Based on voltage and amps do you think this would be safe? They seem to sell a lot of this product on ebay and people buying them. just curious if anyone has experience with them.

Congrats on the 4! I gave up on my P3 Standard due to these range issues they're having. Amazon took it back after 6 weeks too so I ordered a P4 and it will be here tomorrow. I wonder what the best way is to update the firmware for the first time; DJI Go app or Assistant 2 on the computer. Probably no difference?

I unboxed mine last week it was easy and did the update for the fireware through the DJI GO APP
