Hi,

Trieng to update the firmware on the inspire pro (out of the box).
current version is 1.4 and on the sd card the 1.8.1
Powering on the inspire with the sd card in it, doesn't give any result and no updating done. I tried another sd card (formatted) but still nothing is happening.
anyone a sollution for this problem?

On the other hand when i upgrade my rc to the latest version, I get the error RC connection lost after upgrading the RC. so I downgraded it waiting for a solution.
Perpahs anyone can help me on this matter.

Double check the firmware and verify that it is WM610_FC550_FW_V01.08.01.00.bin on the root of the SD Card. There's X3 and X5R firmware, just making sure you have the PRO firmware.....

It's can be downloaded here -> by clicking on this link.... (It's packaged in a zip download and you must extract the binary file and copy it to the root of the SD Card)

P.S. The v1.8.1 changed the encryption between the RC and aircraft, so as you discovered, they won't communicate untill both the RC and aircraft are both updated (usually aircraft first)...

So just to clarify, you have been able to get your RC updated to the latest firmware, but not the aircraft? Are you leaving the .bin file by itself on the SD card? I would recommend reformatting the SD card to wipe it and try again. The audio queues may take a few minutes to start.

Do it like this:

I believe you cant skip from 1.4 to 1.8.  If memory serves me you can only do that from 1.6 on   You'll have to update each one to 1.6 then I believe you're good to go to 1.8 or 1.9

I used to think the same but I know now that you can go from 1.4 to 1.8 or 1.9 .  If you were below 1.3 you had to update to that as a minimum then you could skip to the current one .  I prefer to just stay updated and in order myself.

Terry Lewis always has good advice .  Make sure you always update the aircraft first  too.

No please, I just wanted to let you know , I had the same notion for quite  a while and then I had an opportunity to do it myself.
I found out myself from Terry Lewis one day .    I was  not sure myself , because you cant skip until your at least at 1.3 and beyond.

It's all good Donnie!  Wasn't there battery updates involved after 1.4?  Aircarus should be aware of this if it's so.  Hey what happened to that handsome face in your avatar?

Hello all, I'm a recent Inspire 1 Pro purchaser. Purchased from new for a good price from an ebay seller, it arrived with a dud battery, I got a replacement only to discover that the camera won't send a signal to the app.
The app. is up to date & the R/C firmware updated as it should but the aircraft would not. After searching this forum widely & upon checking the log, I found this ---

Can you guys confirm the bad feeling I have about this being a 'return to DJI' level issue?
Also, on a new drone this issue is warranty I hope?

If it is a new Aircraft then yes, You are covered  ( I dont work for DJI but cant see why this would not be covered )

Your assumption is correct , the system must be sent to DJI for Repair, The video board is damaged or corrupted, this can sometimes happen if you leave the RC Transmitter  on and Update the Aircraft.  Or hard landings or corrupted file installs.  

If anyone else would like to confirm my diagnosis please chime in , I have never seen this repaired without going in  to a service center.

The only possible fix would be to rollback the CAMERA version firmware and see if it may work, this is a long shot but at least worth a try .

Yes battery updates are  after 1.4 and with the all in one Firmware will be on the latest updates (Like 1.8 or 1.9 )

I decided to change my Avatar as just a change of pace ,  I will put an updated Avatar of myself up soon . I hope I dont break the screen with my next Avatar  update .  My old one was just out of School ( Michigan State ) .

Aircarus,
Make sure that you update all of your batteries as well if you update to 1.8 or 1.9.  ( I believe battery updates started at 1.5 or 1.6 )  It is very simple and will automatically update the battery installed at the time of update.  To do additional batteries simply install them in the Aircraft immediately after  updating the aircraft .  You can read the SD card for Success first  and then just repeat the procedure for other batteries , it is real simple .

Yes it is , dont get discouraged when you get up and running it is a lot of fun.  Also go over my tips page when you have a minute to help with updating in the future.
Might save you some headache in the future
