I use the inspire 1 with the Zenmuse X5 and the 12 mm Olympus.

I would like to use shorter & longer lenses, but they will need to have approximatly the same weight as the 12 mm.

Are you looking for other Olympus lenses or just shorter/longer ones in general? We do have a list of supported 3rd party lenses that could work as well.

When dealing with lenses outside of the recommended list, you do have to take dimension into consideration as well, as it could have a hard time fitting on the gimbal as well.

Jamie, I also, would like to know if there are other lens besides the Olympus (and the 1 Leica) that work with the X5.  Are there more than the 6-7 that are listed in a previous forum msg?

These are the only lenses that were tested by DJI to work, there not too much of a difference.


Anything outside of this list would be trial and error at your discretion. Just a word on advice on the latter is that you do need to take the dimension of the 3rd party lens into consideration, not just the weight.

What's about M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-42. Here is that it doesn't fit X5 gimbal?

It is not the best fit compared to the other lenses. It can be done, but as other members have noted, it could potentially cause abrasions that would not leave the lens or the X5 prestine. It does not hinder the movement of the lens on the X5, it's something that you could use at your discretion.

i use the olympus 12 45 and the 14/42 which has left a few marks on the gimbal arm which is ok because im not going to be selling it on lol, the 12mm is an amazing bit of kit though!

I plan to buy Oly 14-42, so what's about balance if zoom changed during a flight?
