I've noticed lately that the centre of the videos I take is extremely blurry.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and how you have resolved it?

Cheers

Drew

Hello Drew, it would be better if you can post the dropbox link of some original video files here. Thanks.

Heres a few links.

You can see on the left of the images and video the picture is sharp. From the centre across to the right the picture is blurry.

Please advise what my options are to get this rectified.

Yikes... I'm no seeing this problem in my p4.  If the lens isn't smeared with something, you probably have a defective camera.

Can't tell from viewing posted video, put the two pictures definitely indicate a lens issue of some sort. You say you checked the lens for smears or marks.  Did you also carefully unscrew the outer lens cover and check the real inner lens for dirt, dried water spots, etc. as well as the rear surface of the lens cover?

I'm interested to see what happens here because I FEEL like I have the same issue. I have 4-5 GREAT video from when I purchased the devices but I STRONGLY feel my video/image quality is decreasing. I'm going to perform some test on my unit today and will provide more feedback!

I'll give it a try but by looking at it, it appears clean.

Any tips on removing the lens?

Are you talking about the actual lens, or the UV filter on the front? You can unscrew the filter, but you should not try to remove the actual lens, send the aircraft back for warranty repair.

It either is or is is not out of focus, it should not change over time. The lens is fixed in every way, it will not change focus.

No I meant the filter, I'm a bit hesitant to take it off as I don't want to damage anything.

Anyone know what the process is in getting the unit replaced in Australia as there is no DJI Care here....yet. I presume I take it back to the place of purchase.

Where did you buy it from? There is a repair centre in Mewlbourne, the procedure is to get a Return Materials Authorisation (RMA) and they will advise you of the procedure. One of the DJI people will come along soon and advise you.

It would be worthwhile reporting to Rise Above that you have an issue with it, just in case.

Have contacted Rise Above but hope to still here from DJI about this too as it appears I'm not the only one with this issue.

No I meant the filter, I'm a bit hesitant to take it off as I don't want to damage anything.

The supplied UV filter on the P4 camera lens has very fine threads, but it definitely unscrews.  Wearing a rubber glove or gripping the lens with a thin piece of textured rubber will allow you to get a good purchase on the lens cover and unscrew it.  (Unscrew it counterclockwise looking at it from the front - lefty loosey - righty tighty).  Mine was screwed on pretty tight from the DJI factory, but wearing a disposable rubber glove I was able to unscrew it easily.  After inspecting, be careful screwing the filter back on, make sure it is going on easily and that you are not cross-threading it.

Managed to unscrew the filter, as expected there was nothing noticeable on it or the lens.

Sorry for my delay. When I check your video, I also see the jello effect on it. I'd suggest you to contact support@dji.com and send it in for diagnosis.

Just an update, I have taken the P4 back to place of purchase. It has been sent to DJI repair centre to have the camera replaced.
Unfortunately they were unable to exchange it for a new P4 due to me owning it for 3+ months.
