I have a P3 4K. There is a micro usb connection on my remote. I have been using the P3 4K without connecting my tablet to the remote with a usb cord. Everything works fine. Would it be to my benefit to purchase a patch cord and connect the tablet to the RC?

The connection between remote and device is made via wifi.  The micro usb port is to update firmware.  Only the P3Advance P3Pro and P4 use connection via usb as they have Lightbridge technology

No, your device and RC can't connect using a cable, only through wifi.

Hello quehouse, the RC of P3 4K uses wifi to connect your mobile device. The usb port is not used for connection.
