Just got my replacement P3S yesterday, and was flying it over my driveway 20ft up and 20ft away from me. All was good, then it randomly stopped and crashed down on the concrete. Gimbal arm snapped, and some of the cables tore. UGH. So frustrated.
Hi, sorry about your loss. You can use your DJI Go to open the flight log and check your command input. It's rare for the drone to just fall out of sky without outside force.
You can also contact support@dji.com and send the drone for inspection, they'll give you a quote on the repair fee.

I did the CSC input (both sticks down and out). Why was the input changed on the 4, but never on the 3 via update? Seems like it was definitely an issue, since it got changed.
So it did not fall out of the sky, you cut the motors and made it fall. So user error. Correct? How did you get in a situation that the sticks were the CSC position. That is an odd position to have the sticks in unless you are flying like a maniac?

It did fall out of the sky.... I was yawing and turning to land. Used to flying quads that can handle it, so I didn't think twice about it. Live and learn.
Maximum right yaw + maximum down + maximum back + maximum rotate left all at once = CSC = crash. Equally bad is:
Maximum left yaw + maximum down + maximum back + maximum rotate right all at once = CSC = crash. Eliminate one or more steps and you'll be fine. You'd have to agree these maneuvers are pretty insane.

Another thread with an eye catching heading trying to put fault on the equipment, or software. At least he owned up to it being pilot error, not equipment malfunction. But now it's the method of CSC that's at fault. I wish people would stop posting and pointing fault at the software or equipment until their sure it wasn't their own doing.
