I'm looking for suggestions on how best to assure the possibility in finding my drone if I'd lost it in a set of woods.
There are devices out there like Trackr that appears to use GPS coordinates but I'm wondering what all might be out there and which work the best.
Thanks for any and all suggestions.
See for yourself with one of your own flight records from the app.
Go to http://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/Upload/
Follow the instructions to upload your flight record.
You'll see where the Phantom was and what it was doing for every 1/10th of a second.
This has been used successfully to find many lost Phantoms and investigate crashes and lost drones.
Thanks! I'm looking something immediate and simple like a dot on a map showing where my lost puppy is in relation to where I'm standing at the moment. If I'm flying at a distance or in the woods, I need to see it asap so I can retrieve it asap. GPS coordinates to follow would be very helpful.
I use a Trackimo and love it. I had the less expensive ones but you need a active SIM card.
The Trackino comes with the SIM and first year is free then $5 a month.
Either way, you have access to your lost drone. ;-)
Seems pretty cheap, even at $60.00 for a year with peace of mind.
I think it basically comes down to how much do you love and want to keep your drone.
If it has added value, to your RC hobby, then buying extra security has its direct benefits.
