Can anyone tell me what the differences are between the Phantom 3 4K and the Phantom 3 Professional drones and controllers?

The Pro controller runs Lightbridge while the P3-4K uses old fashioned wifi.
The  Pro (and all other P3s) also gets 720p live view but the P3-4K only has 480p live view.

Just read the comparison of the two P3s... the difference in the WIFI is going to make quite a difference in the range of connectivity besides the ability to on view in 480 live view.

Yes, live view is the view you get on your tablet/phone.
Is wifi significantly different from Lightbridge?
Yes ... Lightbridge is much, much better and made wifi obsolete for controlling drones.
