[size=14.6667px]Hi folks, is anyone using an iPad Mini 1 with the DJI Go app and their Phantom 3? My brother has just offered me one for free but the first few searches on Google lead me to believe that the iPad Mini 1 isn't compatible with the Go app? Anyone use one? I currently use an iPhone 5 which also isn't listed by DJI as compatible but it still works fine so might just try the iPad Mini 1 anyway and see how it goes.

You need at least a Mini2, here's a list of approved devices.

I have a P3A and used my iPad mini 1 until i learned that it is not compatible!  It also does not have GPS, so the wonderful features like "follow me" and "Point of Interest" are not capable.  Now i use my iPhone 6s Plus which works very well.  I mostly fly FPV and the screen is plenty large enough for that.

The only intelligent function not available is Follow Me. The point of interest uses the aircraft GPS to circle a preset point so a GPS or no GPS in your device doesn't matter.

But my iPad Mini 1 often gave me communication errors (don't remember what it said) but my iPhone 6s doesn't.  I assume it is due to incompatibility (not in your list).  
BTW:  The "Intelligent functions" are all just amazing... I have tested them all and they work amazingly well.

Yes, the Mini1 does not have the processing power to have the app fully function.
