Hi DJI guys!

After upgrading to last Firmware 1.9.1.30
I CAN´T CONTROL THE GIMBAL from the (connected - blue LED!) slave controler

after "Request Control" I get the following message:

"Gimbal Control Request Timeout"

I can control the camera but not the gimbal. It worked before the upgrade!

Shall I downgrade to firmware v1.8?

CameraVersion:      1.8.1.00

As many others I need the Inspire for work, so you can imagine my pannic.

Try this, set the slave as master, go to RC configuration and then set an opposite mode. So if it's set to mode 2 set it to mode 1, hit apply. Then go back and reset it back to mode 2. Once that is done go ahead and put it back into slave mode.Make sure on the MASTER coach mode is set to OFF. Now on the SLAVE search for master, select it and enter password for the master. Once linked please request control or access on the slave and agree on the master. Now you should have all normal slave control. More than likely you will need to reconfigure your stick inputs to desired functions if a custom mapping was used.

I´ll tried what you suggest with the new firmware it did not work even with your procedure. I downgraded to previous firmware - this is the only way which works perfect.

I have not heard of issues as mine and all the others updated fine with he procedure I listed.
Have you started a ticket and I will report it.

Hi Ken, I've tried your suggestion too, and no joy. I have control of the camera settings from the SLAVE (i.e. I can change exposure, ISO, start/stop video, take a photo) but have no control of the gimbal. When I request control, I get the message "Gimbal Control Request Timeout". This happens on both my Inspire 1 V1 (with an X3) and my Inspire RAW (on which I have been putting my X3 during this exercise of trying to upgrade firmware). Both MASTER RCs appear to be operating normally.

Ken, there are plenty of people in the forum with the same problem, so Im not sure what you mean. The Slave controller no longer controls the gimbal after the update. Am I wrong?

Hey Ken, I persevered and tried the whole shooting match again, and this time... it worked. Both AC fully "upgraded" and the SLAVE back in business controlling the gimbal. I am having a drink to celebrate as I type. I shall drink to your good health. cheers!

Try doing a 'gimbal auto calibration' on the slave controller - this fixed the problem for me.

I've reconfirmed that the steps I posted earlier does work. Please follow exactly and you will have gimbal control on the slave.
Let me know if it still does not work for you.

I did not get to go flying today and decided to mess with my remotes after reading this post.

I was able to get either of my remotes to work in the slave or master position with the latest firmware. The camera control worked great on the slave (no matter which one I used). I noticed some video drops on the slave but it was solid most of the time

Yes, I was testing in the house. I had to set up my slave controller again. I set up a custom gimbal control using only the right stick for the camera and the left stick for horizon leveling

I worked great for me.  I switched the remotes to see why some others were not connecting to the Go App or the Inspire. I cannot figure out why they could not connect to the App or re-link to the Inspire. I tried it about three difference ways with both remotes.  and it worked every time for me

PS I downgraded the FW too.... no problem either way

Not sure how much flying I can do this week, it is going to be hot for Oregon 107* by the end of the week. Today only 97*  so I will try and get out today

Flew okay, but noticed a few video drops toward the end of the flight. 96*F outside and the battery temp reached 60*C @ 10% left 13.5 minutes..

I thought I already mentioned Frogg Toggs to you.
When I fly in Arizona (110+) I cut a piece of the Frogg Togg and it stopped the iPad from overheating.

My batteries have gotten hot before but since I only do slow flight the batteries were fine.

I have one of the those towels that I used in China lake in the desert for (me).. I never thought to try that.   

Its funny I have never had this before now with the iPad mini 2... but now with the mini 4 it could be getting warmer.

They really do work well, just make sure it's not too damp so it dips. Basically ring it out really good.
And as time goes on the app may be taking more to run so your device may get warmer as new versions roll out.

I will give it a try sometime!
As much as I like all the new features and stuff the DJI is cramming into the Go App, they may want to consider to brake out the non-essential items from the program. Put these items into another separate App. remember the olds days with the Pilot App  

IMO we need a great pilot app for the aircraft controls and this should be the most important aspect ... the rest is just fluff

You're good to go.

Check if Stick Mode is "Default" in Remote Controller Settings (slave control). Works here after DJI-Ken steps and set default stick mode....and auto calibrated gimbal for slave control.
