It is an interesting demonstration, thank you. I would like to know how you set that up, I could see the phone mounted above your head, presumably providing the GPS location for follow me, but where did you hide the RC unit?

     No, he was flying in his back yard (so he says in the video).  Apparently, you do not have to have any sort of authorization for an airstrip.  He was 6 miles from a bonafide airfield.

     For the P4 to fly 45 mph, someone has to fly it.  The "Follow Me" function does not work in the P4 at faster than 21 mph.  The P3P flies 35 mph in "Follow Me" mode.  The next closest mode is Active Track, but the P4 only goes 45 mph and the Piper Cub was flying at 65 mph at certain times.  Without the GPS link between the Phantom and the Remote Controller, the Cub would quickly fly away from the P4 because the P4 has very limited site distance.

     Jeff was able to show how the P3P (and some other P3s) still have an advantage over the P4 and probably the Mavic.  That was the purpose of the demonstration.

     The RC was on the seat in front of him so he could access it when needed.  You must have missed the shot when he introduced the configuration.  I kept wondering what the long cable was up to the iOS device he had next to the Osmo, then I remembered the RC on the seat.  Then it all made sense.

     Great demonstration!  Happy to see you figure out how it could be done.  No way could a P4 have kept up with your Piper Cub going 50-65 mph using Active Track at 45 mph.  Looked like it got kind of fun at the end!  "I stay coming, you stay going, you coming, I stay going, what?  JUST LAND ME!"

     Gotta love that plane!  BTW, is the L-19 a militarized Piper Cub?

Many thanks for sharing your interesting video! Great job setting up all those cameras to give us a real impression of the flights and the test. The P3P was doing its best. I'm quite happy with mine.
