Any suggestions on what travel case to purchase to safely transport my P3P in back county and on planes, trains, and automobiles? Money is a factor. Thanks.

There are three types of cases.
Soft
Hard
Hard with props left on

Youtube it from there.
I went with #3 but it may be too big for carry on.

I already have the DJI hardshell backpack, which is awesome, but I needed more storage space, so have ordered a Nanuk 945 hard side case, from a local hobby shop.
Yes, you can see it here. https://www.amazon.ca/Nanuk-945- ... /dp/B010TM942I?th=1

Yes, I had always wanted a proper hard side case, and thought they were just too heavy, on the price tag. Blank stare
When I found the prices for these Nanuk 945 at www.greathobbies.com, were hardly much more than the DJI backpack,  I had no choice, & jumped on one.
Waiting for it to arrive is another story. Hahaha oh well.
My one soul complaint of the backpack, is its lacking of more battery storage cutouts. This 945 has room for six packs plus the one being housed in the drone. So plenty more room to carry all of my flight kit & incidental peripherals.
It will also be awesome, with the choice of leaving the props installed upon the drone, while in the case, between flights.

I went with the manfrotto backpack.  built really nice - would like more pockets though - no problems carry-on yet - it's about the same size as my 30L pack doesn't squish like backpacks, its much more firm.

Cool for the Phantom drone and RC... But Where would you store six extra flight batteries, not to mention two 100w chargers, Inspire 1 neck harness, my Lume Cubes with mounts, and some other stuff along with the iPad Air 2?

Seems like an already tight fit, for even the most very basic of flight kits...
But of course, YMMV ;-)

that's why I carry a front pack as well
btw, all that can fit in there.  I can carry a dslr with 2 lenses - my water bottles have attachments to the belt - the laptop pouch can carry a laptop and a 9inch tablet.  I have stuffed it pretty full and its great.  still way too big for my liking - I need a mavic sized drone.

That sounds like a weighty situation? Haha
Though I would love a comfy place to hold my D800 with even my smaller lens. A 24-125mm. Then I could store the 80-400mm in my Badlands Monster Fanny pack. Have photography gear, will travel!! Hahaha
I rarely travel with both my drone and the DSLR, but it's often considered a missing component.

Wearing my khaki military drab green combat pants would be awesome for small folding arm drones.  The lower front cargo pockets are big enough for a Mavic and it's small controller, plus several flight batteries and a few more accessories.
