Any advice for shooting panoramas on the mavic? Would be cool if it was one of the intelligent flight modes.  Are there any apps that do this? I saw in one video that the Mavic's cam can rotate vertically for panos. How do you do this? Are you still responsible for taking all the pics and stitching them together manually with this mode?

Autopilot and Litchi are both in Beta for the Mavic.  I bet they come out soon.

You do better than Litchi when it comes.

Simplest method I found by accident. Hover Mavic. Take a few pictures whilst you rotate (yaw) the aircraft. Upload the images to Google Photos. Within an our or two the Google Photos assistant will automatically recognise and stitch the images into a panorama like this. Perth
Now all I have to do is work out how to take sharp pics to make it worth while . In this example which was only my third flight I still had the Perspex gimbal guard fitted which did not help!

Hi !

Switch to 4k30 and set your camera to portrait mode (90 degree), then hit "record" and do a 360 turn SLOWLY with camera settings:
-no ND FIlter
-manual settings: short shutter speed, may faster then 1/200

The resulting video can be converted to a GREAT looking Panorama using this free MS Software, all automatic settings will be fine:
