Bingo!... and I have been cycling through the 6 batteries on mine frequently for just that reason. I finally had an LOS and "crash" tonight because I out-flew its 150-200 foot range. I recovered it from the roof and continued flying... learning is fun.
I can't tell you how much I appreciate being able to LEARN without being worried about the loss of money. Let's face it, $50-$60 is nothing compared to the $1200-$1400 we will have wrapped up in the Mavic by the time we purchase it, extra batteries, props, case, memory cards, etc.
All that said, I want to say "Thanks" to the OP on this thread. I'd be interested in a poll as well, but it truly nice to read some positive comments associated with the Mavic. I've stayed fairly well up-to-date on all the issues and asked questions and been vocal on a few things, but it's nice to know that there is hope for when my Mavic finally arrives.
FYI, my reason for waiting and purchasing the Mavic as my first "real drone" is the portability and tech it has. I've loved the video from drones for a long time and have enjoyed flying various "toys", but the Mavic wrapped everything in a package that I could actually take along without it being a chore. As a former pro-photographer, I'm all to aware of the work it takes to lug around "real" camera gear and it finally ruined my enjoyment of photography. Now, I'm down to my iPhone, a Canon point & shoot and a Canon superzoom that all fit nicely in my backpack... with plenty of room left for the Mavic. |
