I'm wondering: does the mobile device have to be connected to 4G / LTE in order to fly the drone with all its features? Can I fly the Mavic while my phone is in airplane mode ?

what happens if I recieve a phone call or facetime during flight? Whenever I use any heavy app on my phone and receive a facetime call, the app usually crashes...


Ordered mine on 10/04... very excited! Hoping it gets here before Dec.

I always use mine in airplane mode with no issues , just have to make sure I cache maps for where I'm going to fly.  But then I don't stream video. Also I'm using a phone that isn't active any longer. my other phone is for phone calls.

Hi, just as CaptainET said. You can turn on the airplane mode.
If you receive a phone call, the app will disconnect, but you can still control the aircraft by controller.

Ok so if airplane mode is on I can fly the drone but no video stream?
