I contacted sales today to get an estimate for my P4P preorder placed early on the 15th and was told Jan 5 becuase my order included the charging hub and that I would need to cancel and reorder items seperate to recieve order sooner. I was told they lack the technology to ship items as they arrive in stock.

Orginal tittle and post mentioned HUB as reason for the delay. The inital rep on dji chat was wrond and the batteries are the reason for delay.

Ken did recommend multiple times in the release thread to order accessories separate. I guess now we all know they won't split orders. Cheers.

i did cancel and re-order, but now i lost my place in queue .. I'm still waiting on my Mavic Preorder

I doubt it'll be anywhere near what that meant for the Mavic, of course that line clearly was imaginary. It'll still be way better than where you were with waiting for the hub to release.

I'm sorry about that.
When I order stuff I usually order the aircraft only and a separate order for the accessories.
The Mavic combo was a awesome deal so I ordered the combo, and yes I'm still waiting.

The dji.com store is so bad, they don't mention any of the delays or the transparency. Contacting them and getting a straight answer is even more difficult. Each rep will give me a different response. They really need to update the system to accommodate multiple shipments if they want to sell items they don't have in stock on their website. Really frustrated.

UPDATE: the rep yesterday was wrong and it was the additional batteries that caused the delay.

seems dji are not charging until they ship (still showing authorization and i made the order the day after announce) so im ok with ordering the p4p and batteries together. in my opinion (we all have one) id rather get them all at once so i can fly longer than 24-27 minutes and then have to dock to charge one battery. yes i can get the older p4 batteries but i don't want to.. :-P

I just checked my order for P4P and it says authorised, does anyone know roughly when it will arrive, when ordered it was saying one to two weeks, is it likely to arrive in that time ? I live in the U.K.

Mine said 1-2 Weeks after Authorization, which it did Immidiately. So hopefully 2nd of December at latest.

People say DJI does not take Money upfront, well this Rule doesn't apply for me it seems. I got charged immidiately.

authorizations will drop off after some time.

when i preordered the mavic bundle, the money was authorized and removed from the account immediately. this time for the p4pro, its just an authorization.

I'm curious Ken, what is the advantage of being DJI-Ken (i.e. forum moderator)? In the past, I have worked/volunteered as the online presence for a game company and other online communities and my compensation was generally free or heavily discounted product. At the very least I would get my hands on whatever new product was coming out in the Alpha/Beta phases of testing so I could be familiar with it to answer questions.

I don't get the impression, given your statements, that you receive... anything from DJI. I respect your wanting to help your fellow drone enthusiasts, but if this is the case, it doesn't really say much for the respect that DJI has for those that are wearing the DJI moniker.
