One thing that I noticed that is missing that is covered in the manual is to turn off your wifi on your device. Also on that same note, put your device in Do Not Disturb or Airplane Mode prior to flight.

Just curious why you copy/pasted this from my original post, rather than continuing to offer your own edits?

I have heard both. As a new pilot can you explain which is correct and why?

It is stated at the top of page 17 in this manual: Mavic Pro Disclaimer and Safety Guidelines v1.0 (http://www.dji.com/mavic/info#downloads). Obviously this is only when you are using the RC as the controller and not your phone though. As far as the reason why, I believe it's because the RC and aircraft communicate on the 2.4gHz spectrum and a majority of Wi-Fi uses the 2.4gHz spectrum, they may not operate in the same frequency range, but there is a chance for bleed over. In regards to Do Not Disturb, I wouldn't want to be in the middle of taking a shot or flying close proximity to something and have an incoming phone call show up on my screen. Of course you should be LOS, but that doesn't mean you can judge the distance from an object.

All for sharing info and love the list, but I guess CamStevens would have appreciated being credited for his list and original idea to post such a list. Not having a go but for the sake of peace, love and harmony we should at least try and get on with each other, after all we share the same common interest. I try to love everyone, even the ones I don't like very much........but CamStevens is my favourite Mavic Check list topic starter.
