I'm setting up inspire for a live broadcast here in Australia but the HDMI is only outputting 720p60 when we need 720p25 or 1080i50.
I have set both the master and my two slaves to 720p25 in the Pilot Software (v1.0), and the system is also set to PAL, yet the output from HDMI continues to be 720p60 no matter what settings are used.
Has anyone managed to change this or is this a significant bug that needs fixing.
I have to do a live broadcast in 48 hours so it would be great if someone knows how to make the switch to 720p25 which is the broadcast standard.
I would suggest the only way is to standards convert the output. My guess is the transmission was never meant to be used this way as the real recording is done in the unit itself. The quality of the realtime view is good but not perfect.
You could using something like the Edirol VC300HD and end up with a very nice 1080 25P. The TBC will ensure you get the most stable signal possible.
HDMI out from the Tx to HDMI in on the Blade. Make sure that you enable dual output and whether you want OSD data to show or not. The signal is very stable and inputs at 720p60. I record in prores. I have used this to record video out to 1.9km.
I'm in the same boat as Matty and am keen know if anyone has had success - is the Atomos Ninja the solution to convert the HDMI output from 720p60 to 720p50 or 25 frames ?
No it's not the solution, Atomos Ninja and Shogun can receive a lot of different inputs, but it will pass the same framerate out as in.
So what we need is an update that makes us choose between 50 or 60, wich by the way can be done in the Lightbridge, but that signal is not reconized by Atomos at all.....

I resolved the problem by getting a scaler/converter that can input any flavour of HDMI, then scale or convert as you determine and output that flavour.
Here's a link to what I got: http://www.hdtvsupply.com/hdmi-resolution-changer.html
