So today I got my brand new P3S sent from DJI Netherlands. My previous P3S had range issues after firmware update (signal lost after 40-100 meters).

My brand new P3S has the 1.2.40+ firmware... I took it for a test flight and 500 meters - no problem. But of course I'm getting the firmware update message... Shoud I update or leave it as it is? What am I missing by not updating? My GO app is the last version (iOS). Do i void any guarantee by not updating?

If it isn't broke, don't fix it.

No don't update. I have a P3S I bought new a year ago. It has the 1.2.40+ FW. I have never updated and I have never had a problem, everything works as it should. "Knock on Wood"

Thanks for the replies, this made it for me - I won't update... at least not now

I won't update either - assuming my P3S ever gets shipped.
