When you're drone loses strong satalite connectivity, it will switch into "ATTI" momentarily.
You can also practice this mode by switching it on with the three position switch on your RC.
It will drift with the wind, when it doesn't have GPS locked on positioning.

It will also do that when it encounters a compass error.
I suppose so, I can't recall mine ever encountering any Compass annomaly. There might have been once, but it was so long ago, I am uncertain. Other than performing an IMU calibration in the kitchen. Triangulated between fridge, stove and sink. Yeah, You gotta love this delicate technology... ;-)
