I'm used to being able to change the shutter speed with the remote controller when using P3P but on P4P I can't seem to do that. Would be useful when taking still photos and the light conditions change often.

Practise with the thumbwheel a bit.
You click it to change the field you want to select.
When the shutter speed is highlighted in blue, turn the thumbwheel to change the setting.

I did try that but it didn't work. Maybe because I can't get the shutter speed box to highlight in blue as Labroides suggested.

Just push in on the thumbwheel ... click, click, click and it will cycle through the fields turning each one blue in turn.

ps .. it appears that you have your camera set to underexpose and your pictures will be too dark with EV-1.7.
Something else to adjust when you work out how to use the thumbwheel

Oh, thank you! Had missed that you could do that.
