The device clearly states it has a 5.7 Amp output, exactly the same as the DJI charger. Therefore it cannot charge 4 batteries at the same time, it does not have the power rating to do so. It must charge them sequentially.

OK. Let's get this back in place.

I personally haven't tried this unit, but I do own a dual charger for my car. It works, but does get hot when I have two batteries attached to charge (while driving only).
Geebax' concern is real - that unit offers enough to charge one branch at a time, but stretched over 4+1 branches it'll have to work very hard.

Using the 'water' analogy, voltage is the water pressure and ampage is the size of the pipe. The P4 battery requires 17.5V and 5-5.7A to charge. Having that as the total output is inadequate for more than one battery and RC at the same time. The one reviewer on Amazon notes how hot it got...

You'll note that other units may quote something like 17.5V and 12A total, with 17.5V and 4A per branch (with 3+1 connections). Sure that's less an ampage per branch than perfect, but it'll still do it (just taking longer).

Now, I'm not a sparkie - I just researched - so no flaming please team...

Nothing much really, you said:

'Using the 'water' analogy, voltage is the water pressure and ampage is the size of the pipe. '

Strictly speaking, voltage is the pressure and current (measure in Amperes) is the current flowing. The pipe diameter is closer to Resistance in the analogy.

OK, yeah, I read that too. But I used 'poetic licence' to make the point easier to get across. (hehe)

P4P+, pretty much - except that the bottom line is that that unit appears under-spec'ed for a fully connected application. Now, if that unit was rated as 17.5V and 5.7A per branch, and not total...

This spring like weather has the streets all wet and muddy...

So it will be a swell Rum or Vodka offering... Haha
But I keep them tall bottles in the freezer, so yes, it will be very cold. Chuckles

Mr. Thrasher , please don't take this the wrong way, but that particular charger with only one star rating and only one rating at that, IMHO appears not to be a quality product. many of the professionals on this forum cant afford to take a chance on substandard equipment. I myself own a P4 and a P4 Pro, I have 10 batteries between the two. at dji prices, that is $1690. I don't want to take a chance of frying a batch of good batteries. I solved the charge problem by purchasing 3 dji chargers and charging banks. these I trust and dji backs them. most of these pro's here have dealt with this in the same way and  wont be fooled by cheap chargers. we do appreciate your participation on the forum !

Free to waste time? I smartly bought a second OEM DJI 100w charger for my four, Phantom 3 Pro' intelligent packs.
Yeah, but would love a charger that can be set to deep cycle and then fully charge them back up...

So yes, I will acquire one of them smart power chargers, some happy day... ;-)

The DJI charger is $60, so if one wanted to charge two batteries at once they could buy another DJI charger. Or two of them for $120, to charge 3 batteries at once.

I own the Inspire version of the SmartPowerCharger....let me offer up some personal experience....

It is well built and will do "most" of what they claim on their site.

It is NOT firmware upgradeable.
It has not been FW upgraded through USB since rollout 2 years ago...and will not be .
It does NOT deep cycle your batteries as per DJI's recommendation. Cycle : yes , but not  for conditioning.

Not sure what you mean by "NOT deep cycle your batteries as per DJI's recommendation. Cycle : yes , but not  for conditioning."
Which recommendation are you referring?

If it does indeed deplete them, and then recharge, then what isn't right?
