I want to buy another battery for my P4. I'd like to buy one on eBay because they have good deals, but before I do is there such a thing as a cheap knock off battery? I don't want to buy something thinking I'm getting a good deal then find out the hard way it wasn't

I always buy amazon prime, because 1. if i find the battery is not dji, it's easy to return. And 2, if the battery fails within a year, amazon will most likely replace or refund - and who knows how long the battery was on the shelf before being sold....(EDIT: Mine are P3A, forgot to mention)

The P4 high capacity packs are still relatively new. So no worries there. ;-)

Hi, the P4 batteries are pretty safe at this stage there are not many knock off batteries around, (but they are still around) compared to the P3's battery's you can get aftermarket/counterfeit one's everywhere.
You will be safe in buying genuine flight batteries from a repeatable dji dealer.

There are two different Phantom 4 Batteries: (cp.pt.000342 Part #7) and (cp.pt.000399 Part #54)?

Apparently the 399 is the latest and most current version (released in June/ July 2016). The best distinction between the two is that 399 has super bright LED display compared to the older model and/or knock offs. The older model 342 had issues with small hairline cracks next to the LED display. Not quite sure which model has the wobbling/ loose battery housing effect though.

Another little tip if you come across a battery that you find online and you think its suspect check the net weight (if it's available) of the suspect battery against dji's battery specs, normally the suspect battery will be a different net weight.

The standard P4 is not recommended to use the P4P's high capacity batteries, though you can use the standard P4 batteries with the P4P/+.
