Is it a must to calibrate the imu of a brand new phantom 4 pro just unboxed

Nothing is mandatory, but it is strongly suggested to calibrate your drone, and RC sticks as well.

IMU, Gimbal, and Compass too.

If it was DJI would tell you in the manual.
They didn't - so it isn't.

It's actually called the Gimbal not gumball.

Let's be clear, DJI, has left out a lot of info from the user friendly manuals.
We can agree on that fact..

But if it was important to do it before flying, that would be in there.
Extensive field testing has confirmed that it is completely unnecessary before flying a new drone.
Extensive forum study shows that lots of users get a warm feeling inside from thinking they are doing something useful - even if it's completely unnecessary.

I did RC calibration nothing changed.

I had no issues with RC only compass issues and maybe a little tilted camera.
