Hi, change to photo mode, press and hold trigger until menu pops up. Select timelapse.
I think this function is not very well documented.

Thanks Christian ,

Just found it , shame the minimum interval time is 5 seconds though , on a 15 min flight that would give you less than 4 seconds of playback at the standard 24 fps ! would have been much better if we could have chosen time of say 1 , 2 0r 3 second intervals

Agreed 5sec interval not very useful. I'm guessing the limitation is due to the camera needing time to transfer image from buffer to SD card.

Dear Christian and Peter my blessed brothers inspired 1 by Christ ,Here is a blessing from the Holy Spirit,
* You can push the shutter to take a pic manually as often as you wish for superb time lapse with your Inspire 1.
Yes it's auto mode is min. is evry 5 sec's but don't forget  manually you can take a shot every .05 sec's for example or as fas as it will allow
or a shot manually every 1 sec. or 2 sec. Virtual Inspired time lapse Amen? Amen.  From Behind the Sky

You can always just shoot regular video and create a time lapse effect in your video editing software. Here's an example with Adobe Premiere: http://www.streamingmedia.com/Producer/Articles/ReadArticle.aspx?ArticleID=99445&PageNum=2

You can also shoot video then extract multiple still images using Final Cut Pro from whatever point in the movie.

You simply just put a marker on the timeline when viewing the video then extract the markers as images.  You can also extract still images for the entire frames of the video using the Share function.
You can download a free app called :  fcpxImageExporter

This helps in exporting multiple images from Final Cut Pro

There is a big difference between shooting time laps with raw files and from extract it from video. Better quality and post possibility when shooting raw stills. Stills raw files wins every time. Keep in mind that video is stills depending how much stills you put per sec to create your video. It will really help if Dji team will listen to the users that ask less then 5 sec intervals stills. Specially to x5r users

The card is certainly not an issue.  The OSMO can do time lapse (in DJI Go) at 2 second intervals with no problem. A GoPro can do half-second intervals, also with no problem so it isn't the card speed.. it's purely the software unfortunately.

Wow. Never saw the old note Rich, but that's good news. 2 second interval is not bad - good for anything beyond traffic or walking. Thanks for the tip.

Hey guys, I've been doing a little testing with this function. It's REALLY great!!! I'm working on my color flow, but here is some stabilization with premier pro, and warp stabilizer. SO GREAT!!!! This is going to be a LOT of fun.

Hi Jay,

We may possibly be straying from the OP a little here but have you seen this?

Mark, someone did show this to me before. While this is a great little effect, it doesn't give me the same end result that I'm looking for. This works really well for video that has been ramped up a lot, but I want to keep the 4K resolution, and would rather have the aircraft do the work of moving the camera to get the motion aspect into my compositions.

Here is another one I'm working on. I lost a few frames during an export, but I'm really liking this new work flow. It consists of LRTimelaps4, Lightroom, and After Effects. Very cool stuff going on here!! Cant wait to share more soon.

Lol @ the buildings, especially the one with white side and a red roof, seem to be shrinking and expanding.

Thanks for sharing Jay....

I love the way the clouds are coming toward the camera in this location.  I have not done anything with timed shots yet and looks like fun.

Are you taking the entire battery time for these clips?  25min?

Yeah, I'm using most of the battery for these flights. I am not getting anywhere near 25min though. Roughly 14min total of photo taking, then a min or so to bring it back down and land plus the min or so to get it up in the air, and then framing the shot. So it's about 17min of total flight time. I also start landing at 30%. And then there is with wind force that the AC might be fighting.. It all plays a factor in the flight time, as we all know.. 14min photo session is roughly 400 photos. That's about 17 seconds when played back at 24fps. Make's for some decent timelapses.
