My P4 disconnected and fell out of the sky from 100m.
All settings and pre flight checks were carried out before take off to ensure safe flight.
According to the flight data it just disconnected and fell to earth. A warning is recorded gimbal over movement.
RTH was set correctly.
The shell and landing gear is badly damaged! The props were still attached to motors, though broken on impact. Battery is damaged and 60%. Charged.
This is a replacement P4 which has never been able to fly further than 500m. Hopefully it will be replaced again as this is no fault of my own.
Can anyone please adcise me or help in any way. Much
The gimbal warning may suggest that there was a collision.
Upload your phone flight log to http://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/upload/ (follow instructions on the page) and we can have a discussion about what happened, there is no point discussing it without information to base the discussion on.
If it was just a mid-air failure with no collision then just send it in under warrantee for repair/replacement. Might be wise to extract a copy of the aircraft flight log first using DJI Assistant 2, just in case DJI or the postal service loose it.
I'm sorry to hear. The best course of action would be to email the Europe Support team at support.eu@dji.com in order to send the unit in for evaluation and repair.
that gimbal over-movement could be indicative of:
* a gust of wind which may have turned the drone upside -down
* a normal operation which resulted in the gimbals unable to recover (motor shut-off in mid-air)
* a fast deteriorating situation ( like a motor shutoff, a propeller disintegrating a hitting in mid-air), where gimbal error was last recorded
* a power failure aboard the drone
even if the answer lies in one option above, is a speculation and proper approach would be required to have the drone fixed.
The drone has an internal memory which may have recorded additional flight data than what you see in the app.
if i had that incident, then i would contact DJI for support, then if required:
1. i would send the telemetry data to DJI. telemetry is located in the app of your phone or device
2. i would ask for support at retrieving the drone internal telemetry data.
good luck with the repairs!

On Feb. 11th, I too had an incident where my craft fell from the sky. Naturally, I don't know all of the circumstances surrounding your incident, BUT they may prove to be similar. DJI will have to determine that for you. Good luck to you!
DJI have created a case reference for the return to a repair centre. However is it normal for the repair centre to be 1000,s of miles away in California..I purchased the drone in the U.K. and would expect a local repair centre to carry out the repairs.

I'm sure that is a mistake, no reason to send it out of the EU even if the most local service centre is overloaded.
