I turned on my Phantom 4 Drone today and saw a message stating that there was a Firmware Update available. So, I connected the wire between the Controller and the Drone and now it said that the Firmware was the current edition. Has anyone else seen this and if so, how do i know which statement is correct? Thanks in advance for your responses....

There is firmware maintained for each of the controller and the craft (and the craft firmware incorporates firmware when required for the battery).
You didn't say in the first sentence what the P4 was connected to when you turned it on. A PC? The controller? Something must have displayed the message. I ask because in the next sentence you say you then connected the P4 to the controller. Regardless, it's possible that one of the two requires update.
