After upgrading the firmware and the app to the newest version I realized that the app setting for P and S modes now shows the max. speed in S mode as 45km/h. Before it was 65km/h.
What happend? Is it just a mistake or did DJI really lowered the max speed?

Umm.....that would be an issue for people who bought with the expectation of the speed that sport mode as advertised offered....no?

Surely there would be a few returns on that basis

Would like to test it but it is way to windy today.

To me it doesnt make any sense as the P mode is 35km/h.  

what ?!? Can someone try? this would mean I'd have to either downgrade somehow or cancel a trip this weekend where I film with the mavic at speeds >45km/h

This would also mean that they don't deliver on the advertised speeds of Mavic and this would be a subject to return the product for refund.

It would also mean, that you may get stranded in stronger winds and be unable to return to home... Or run away from a bird... :/

Can someone confirm this?

Description on site still states "40 mph (65 kph) in Sport mode without wind" so would like to think this is just an isolated issue or a mistake

After firmware updates you have to switch on "multiple flight modes" again to use S mode. I assume you did that!?

It is not about switching into S mode. I´m talking about the description of the modes (multiple fly modes enabling) within the app.

Exactly. Look at screenshot. It in German but the relevant number is the same for all of us
But switching to English brings the old value back. So it seems to be a simple mistake in translation.

what the ACTUAL?

Was flying in Sport mode yesterday and didn't notice a drop in speed though I wasn't paying close attention to the actual MPH.  Performed visually like it always has.

ok, enough guesswork - I just checked:
- most current firmware on mavic
- current app version
- Austria
- 60kph top speed on a short stretch in sports

That's why I call them " firmware downgrades"
