Yeah, I'm getting used to DJI doing this. I'm amazed there isn't a mavic 2 pro coming too to be honest.

That said, I've had no issues with my P4P. Stunning piece of machinery.

And actually my Phantom 4 Pro Standard works great.  It's the P4Pro+ that was bricked on arrival for the most part.   So Agreed

This isn't a P4Pro equivalent, it has no reversing obstacle sensors.  

Doesn't seem to be much else missing though.

Now where is our firmware upgrade for the P4 standard to give tripod mode...

I wouldn't call it a "new" P4P. It's the old P4 with just the upgraded P4P camera. and for those who want a screen integrated with the RC, they can have it. No back vision sensors, no side sensors....  Ah, yes, the new batteries... for 150 $ less than the P4P.

The P4 pro needs no fixing.
It's a great machine - mine has worked just fine since December.

Agree 99%... I once had a silly second of NO GPS... but that was aujto-corrected within no-time...

I don't see anything off the cuff that is different besides sensors.  They included a lot of options at such a similiar price point, it would be difficult to turn down a properly working P4Pro/+ for a few bucks more.

Because, otherwise, a serious  company wouldn't offer another drone if the current one still does not perform as it was supposed to do.
In that respect, we can ignore the 150 $ or € difference in price and we can buy the Phantom 4 Pro, which has side and rear sensors and 5.4GHz option!

I'm waiting for my Phantom 4 Pro Plus to get back from the shop so we shall see about the + versions too.  I like your theory @kykphantom.  Hopefully they did crack the plus versions horizon and high frame rate / video transmission issues (I also had a bricked on board m-sd card reader and no monitor playback).   If it comes back in tact and working I'll be psyched (might even buy a P4A).

It has a new flight controller and is lighter than the original Phantom 4, also P mode is faster (new controller). From what I have been able to gather from forums and the DJI forum folk, the Mavic and the P4P and P4A all have the same flight controller.

With the announcement of the  Phantom 4 Advanced, the original  Phantom 4 model
will be discontinued on April 30, 2017. DJI will  continue to provide after sales support
to Phantom 4 customers and their  aircraft will still be able to be flown using the DJI GO 4 app.
