Now that's cool. Question tough.. The processor is already under fairly heavy load with the DJI app running isn't it? How much room is left for normal glitch free operation? We might be asking too much from the I 7 processor.

Android has them too. There should be a couple in the play store. As for performance, I've been using screen recorders since the galaxy s2 so I doubt that a multicore proc would have problems with it. As always, try freeing up as much memory before flying, especially if your running samsung hardware. They're filled with a whole bunch of unneeded crap!

So I installed it on one of my iPad mini 2's, the pilot pad, not camera op iPad. Had very glitchy video using the screen recorder to the point it froze too much.
Was never more than 30m from the tx.
Swapped iPad's, same problem.
Turned off screen recorder and had good video out to about 100m.
Used iPad without recorder loaded onto it for a solo op flight and had no issues.
working on getting video posted.

While that alone would suggest the burden on the processor is potentially to great, it's not conclusive. Anyone else willing to chime in after giving this a try?

I suppose the prudent thing to do is to stabilize the Inspire's firmware to the point that it is fully reliable and then maybe think about stacking on the bloat ware? But as has been said, nothing ventured... Or is it better safe than....

Apple will not allow any app that has the ability of screen recording due to the potential of malicious use and security of passwords.  That is why Shou has to be "side loaded" around the app store.

Any concerns on malware from a sideload?

Apple took almost a month just to approve the DJI Pilot App and that's  from a huge multi-million dollar company. I bet they never approve Shou or when they finally do we won't be flying Quads anymore but instead our kids will be flying personal UAV's that go up into space and back. Heck, we are still waiting on the SDK for this thing.

Plus I also think Jaron is right with what he said as well.

I have a 64 gig iPad Air 2. So, that's a pretty good machine I would think as far as processor, memory, etc. for this sort of thing.  
I installed everything but its raining here (urg) so I can't test it yet on my system.

As soon as I do, I'll let everyone know what I find. I may just post the video from my first flight starting at take off and ending on landing on Vimeo for everyone.

It seems like a great find Dundee if it works! Good job!

The Nvidia Shield has a nice recorder built into the tablet. It works well and does not slow down the tablet at all.

I checked it, and the link is still there and working.
Im using Ipad Air 10.5 inch.
But should work on all IOS devices

I use a Atomos Ninja Blade connected to the HDMI port.  It records with OSD data.  Also note that there are screen recording apps for the Android.

Got it this time .... sweet app and thank you for sharing!

I'm using an Android recorder on my Nexus7 called "Lollipop Screen Recorder". It works flawlessly, but does require Android 5.0 &up. It has great reviews and I'm adding my 5 to the mix.

Hey I found the app does appear to be available in the app store now. But the App Store is currently down!

I am using the Nvidia Shield and the built in recording is excellent and easy to use...

I used the app to day. It worked well but the playback is turned 90 degrees independent of the orientation I select for recording. See picture.
Any idea why this happens? I use an iPad mini 3.

Anyways, i think you use windows media player. (apple not like haha)
Try with quicktime player.

This bit of info may help those trying to get the shou app. Click on the link Dundee posted in his initial post. It will bring you to the YouTube video explaining the app and demo. If you don't see this, you clicked the wrong link, look again. If you have gotten to the video, then look in the description of the video for the link to the shou app. Click on that and a pop up message will appear asking if you want to install the app. Of course you should be on an iPad or other iOS device for this. From there you should be able to figure out the rest. Watch the video for a tutorial on using the app and to see if it looks like something useful to you.
