I had decided that with all the firmware upgrade problems, I would hold off until I am forced. Well, I got back from flying today and I got the red alert about a Firmware update. I thought this was an optional update. Comments are appreciated.

DON'T if you must not! I'm  feeling upset.

Uninstall the DJI Pilot app from your device. Reboot & reinstall. Now don't launch it without being in airplane mode. You'll be able to fly without getting nagged.

I own an Android based device and luckily have it rooted - this allows me to keep the .apk file for each DJI Pilot app as they upgrade along (that's for the app only). For the firmware, I don't upgrade until AT LEAST 3-4 weeks have passed and I find out what issues others are having first!

Exactly the same. I have sent the log files to DJI and waiting for a response!

I had the same issue. I had to re-upgrade my fc three times before it took.

I also had trouble updating the Controller. Took 4 hours of my life and about 5000 strands of hair being pulled out. Came in from work today and used a different thumb drive (faster) and it worked first time. Used the same method on the I1 and it failed. Spent the last 3 hours doing the same, all to no avail. Finally contacted DJI. You getting flashing yellow from the bird and constant beeps, it then starts to read the file with 4 beeps and then sounds like a fax machine after about 12-15 mins...
