Interesting!
I have the Redmi Note 3 (Android 6) and all was rock stable until yesterday when Redmi did a firmware update. This morning I flew 3 batteries: the last 2 full flights with a black mobile screen: every time I tried to enter dji go 4 and connect to the mavic I was sent back to the home icons of my phone... I still flew but no video!
Hey this is the exact same thing I discovered a few minutes ago! I managed to get 4.0.7 working, at least for one flight.
First of all I have done a clean install of DJI Go 4.0.7. Then I have turned off every data-connection (including WiFi) and switched to Airplane-Mode. I disabled auto-rotation. I disabled "Use cellular data to upload" in DJI Go settings. I disabled audio-recording and local-video-Cache. This was my preflight-setup.
Before I connected my phone, I waited to get the Mavic and paired to the AC and waited for the Ready-to-Fly GPS fix.
With all these steps the app has worked for around 5 minutes. In earlier trys the app has crashed immediatly, so I knew everything must be okay. Then I have tried to figure out which of the above trigger is the root cause of all my problems. Right after I have enabled the WiFi (rest still in Airplane-Mode) the app crashed immediatly and it behave like your description. I could not bring it back to live. I have turned off WiFi again, but the app still crashes. I tried to restart everything - no success, the app keeps crashing. So I had to revert to 4.0.5 to continue flying this evening.
My guess is:
the app checks for newer firmware version or other updates and has downloaded/changed anything in the files which causes the problems. Or it has to do with the map-data which will be downloaded automatically if the app is connected to the internet. This may explain why it keeps crashing after it had a data-connection and then it never come back to live. But before the app ever had a data-connection it runs perfectly stable. I don't know if this is the cause but I think this is close to the solution.
Maybe any moderator (DJI Ken, DJI Natalia, DJI Mindy or DJI Thor) is interested in this? Can you pass this to your dev-team or at least verify this? |
