I have used datcon to extract .dat files to csv files which I can read and get position, orientation and time from. Is there a marker anywhere to tell when a video (or image) was started or stopped?

Not sure why they would not release it. Maybe they want customers to pay more for that ?

There is no info for video images, but all still shots have the usual EXIF data embedded in the file. You just need an EXIF viewer to see them.
