I've just discovered that the software I use for video (Premiere Pro CS6) does not support the H265 codec.

This means that I cannot use the D-log or HLG colour modes.


Does anyone have a work around for this, or a suggested alternative software.

Not a big fan of the subscrirtion model that Adobe have implemented

i just started using CyberLink monthly sub and its not that bad ..  you get all the packs/effects they have available and I paid 79.xx for 1 year of subscription that is always updated to the most current version. Just at thought for ya

I use the CC plan and am very pleased with the service.  But I use many a number of platforms weekly info daily.  Audition, Premier Pro, Lightroom, Prelude, so the $50/mo fee is well worth it, plus, I get the upgrades without the hassle.

I found out that Ipad pro 10.5 + Lumafusion are very powerfull, fast and easy to use.

If you have an iMac, pay for FCPX.  Well worth the money.  No nasty subscription..  I'm not knocking Adobe.  It's just too expensive for what I would use it for.

This is good info. I don't have the Mavic 2 Pro but am using an older version of Premiere (because I also don't want to pay the subscription) I hope you find a fix for this. I'll look into a plugin fix for it. Thanks in advance if you find a solution.

I have CC6 and am in the same boat.

Bought the Cyberlink full package and it seems to work OK, but seems that they do not use the standard LUT format.

Does anyone know if the LUTs can be converted to a type that Cyberlink understands?

Also tried Resolve but will not work with 265 files, so no good for Dlog unless you buy the full version.

Too bad Adobe charges the same for a customer using the software full time and one that uses it a little here and there.

I'd pay for the subscription if the charge was proportionate to how much it was used.

Try changing the extension to m4v. Some people have luck according to this forum. https://forum.dji.com/thread-166996-1-1.html  Others in the forum say the H265 doesn't work if it's paired with AIFF soundtrack, but these video files shouldn't have any audio. Try changing extension and let me know.

If the only issue is the soundtrack could always color grade and edit in resolve then add sound in Cyberlink.

If Davinci does not work with H.265 you might want to download this codec from Microsoft:

I did download the H.265 codec for windows 7 and that enabled the files to play on windows media player.

Maybe they would like you to buy the full version to use 265?

Changing to the .m4v extension did not work, still says media unavailable.

It seems our current hardware and software really struggles with h.265 compared to H.264.

Tried shooting in normal mode, looked mushy on a 1080 monitor but really nice detail on a 1440 Surface Pro just a little oversharpened.

Trees looked like they actually had leaves! On the MP trees looked like they had blobs at the ends of their branches and looked bad.

Could some of the lack of detail we have been seeing be due to resolution mismatch?

Has anyone done comparisons of normal vs graded dlog footage and if the 10 bit mode is really noticeable?

Maybe 10 bit dlog sounds good in theory but with a 100 mbs data rate the difference is not as much as you might think?
